Temple Terrace

Temple Terrace is located about ten miles northeast of downtown Tampa. It covers approximately 6 square miles and is comprised of about 20,400 residents. It is predominately a residential area with shopping areas such as University Mall, and many commercial businesses and services. It is also home to one of Florida's infamous theme parks, Bush Gardens which features over 3,400 exotic animals, birds and reptiles. This African themed entertainment park covers 335 acres and includes some of the United States largest and fastest roller coasters.

Temple Terrace is also home to the Museum of Science and Industry or MOSI. MOSI is a scientific playground were visitors can interact with more than 450 hands on exhibits including a replica of a Gulf Coast Hurricane. Also included are a planetarium, space-flight simulators and an IMAX DOME theatre.

Only about 2 miles from the University of South Florida, Temple Terrace could be considered the bedroom community for the faculty, administrators and many students for the university. Also close by is the University Community Hospital and Tampa's Veterans Hospital.

Other landmarks to Temple Terrace include it's Golf and Country Club, one of the oldest golf courses in the state and the Big Top Flea Market, open Friday, Saturday and Sunday for your bargain shopping pleasure.

For the outdoor enthusiasts, the Hillsborough River runs through Temple Terrace and offers wonderful canoeing, fishing and small craft boating. The area's Lettuce Lake Park is perfect for hiking, bicycling and weekend picnics.

Temple Terrace's real estate market offers a variety of condominium and townhouse living as well as affordable single family residential. One of the more prestigious neighborhoods of Temple Terrace is the Riverhills area with lovely tree lined streets and homes bordering the Hillsborough River.
