Sun City Center

Located 25 miles south of Tampa and 30 miles north of Sarasota, Sun City Center is a large planned development community. Spanning an area of approximately 5,000 acres, it is primarily a retirement town, with a population of approximately 16,000 people.

Sun City Center residents enjoy a host of services, activities and recreational opportunities. Recreation includes 126 holes of golf, 14 tennis complexes and 5 swimming pools. The area has it's own hospital, numerous restaurants and plenty of shopping. Just minutes to Ruskin or Apollo Beach, one can enjoy the sunsets over Tampa Bay or hop onto Interstate 75 to be in Tampa or Sarasota in a short period of time.

Residency requirements call for an individual or one of a couple to be at least 55 years of age. Children must be 18 years old, however, younger children may visit for up to 30 days.

Originally developed in 1961 by the Del. E. Webb Corporation, housing consists of single family homes, villas, and patio homes as well as assisted living facilities. Many of Sun City Center's homes include all outside mowing and trimming for a nominal monthly fee. Homes range in age from 1961 to the present, with many new home developments now under contruction. Prices range from $50,000 to $250,000.
