The Big Pineapple
Located one hour north of Brisbane, the Big Pineapple is set in the tropical fruit orchards. Entry to the Big Pineapple is free, only the individual tours that you would like to try are charged for at a reasonable rate. It is an entire day of fun and wholesome entertainment for the entire family.There are special provisions here for the disabled and wheelchairs are available on hire and the Big Pineapple is open on all days from 9.00 am to 5 pm. Opening for shorter periods on Anzac day(25 April) and Christmas (25 December).
There are five tours available here. Try out the Plantation tour which takes you past the picturesque fruit orchards and the pineapple and collect some informative tips on pineapple cultivation.
The Macadamia processing factory here is the largest in the southern hemisphere. The ride on the тЂњNutmobileтЂќ is simply superb with the virgin beauty of the rainforest and the lovely macadamia plantations overpowering the senses.
The Animal Nursery is the chance to spend some time with wildlife in this serene setting and even feed some of them. Take a walk along the lovely rainforests and enjoy every bit of what nature has to offer while gaining an insight into the wide range of native animals and birds of Australia.
The Harvest boat ride is great fun and also provides some interesting information about horticulture and the Rainforest creatures of the night is an experience in itself.

The Big Pineapple has also been used as a wedding location. The staff here would ensure the saying тЂњMarriages are made in heavenтЂќ is made true for the wedding. The Big Pineapple also gives rooms on hire for product promotional campaigns.
